Wear and tear on ships.

I would like to see wear and tear on ships and figured I would add the idea to the proper forum.

A reduction in efficiency and power output for thrusters, rcs, gnerators, and other systems perhaps. Block wear to the point of needing replacement per frigidmans suggestion in another thread. I am sure there are other area's this could be used too. Eventually repairing the original ship becomes less desirable vs. a new ship and a recycle/rebuild could be the best option.
