Mineral deposits are rarely perfect spheres but from what I can tell the mineral deposits are. If you look at mineral deposits that show up on GPR (ground penetrating radar) maps they are never spherical. Generally they have an oblong shape with irregular bumps. Sort of like a rectangular log. The deposits can be vertical, horizontal or even diagonal but they won't be perfect spheres.
P.s. meteorites might be different because of the erosion the atmosphere puts on the rock as it is falls...
