Tackling an Alien Base

I found an alien base with a few drones guarding it. I decided to land my craft about 500 meters away but as I got out and approached the base all heck broke lose and green plasma started coming through the trees, rockets rained down from above and my ship was targeted as well as myself. I barely made it back to the ship across the broken ground with all the new holes opening up due to the rocket rain.
