how about in late/end game you could manage to build an advanced clone constructure.
Implements could follow these steps
1 : simple noc clones that guatds your base or capital vessel. Attacks all non faction, just like torrets.
2: commandos were you can give out simple orders. Rally, defend, attack and point towards a point.
3: pilots, alternative make a cockpit that is automated. In that way you can have a hangarship with SW that can fly out and fight.
This concepts can be very amusing...
