Ability to adjust Vessel direction

Having spent 4 days on a giant CV, I found that I couldn't warp it. After a quick google I found that many others have had this issue and that it has something to do with the starter direction. Some of these topics are nearly 2 years old and it really surprises me that a dismissive culture has arisen blaming the builder and pointing to wiki entries and obscure "directional clues" on the starter itself rather than rallying to get the issue solved once and for all.
