As best I can tell from playing MP survival there's wicked entropy happening in the game with regard to resources and, more importantly, power generation. Unless there's some unlimited source of Promethium out there or a mechanism to create renewable energy it would seem that eventually you'll run out of promethium and all your toys will stop working.
