Hi Galactic Survivalists,

We are giving Unity 2018 another try. As mentioned the last time, the ideal outcome would be that you do not see any difference to the last public release version Alpha 9.5.0 (Build 2294).

A9 - NPC Factions: New Companion Missions

With the Alpha 9 and the introduction of NPC Factions we added 18 new missions in total - 6 for each faction.

These so called "Companion Missions" do not directly build up on each other, although the context of the actions laid down in the missions are somehow connected between each other ;)

Furthermore, for some of the more advanced companion missions you need to reach a certain standing with the faction at first.

As I began doing the missions/quests listed in my PDA for the three factions I had a question: if my Reputation with Zirax is high-level (Friendly or above) they do not attack -- if I lower my reputation with the other two factions by doing Zirax missions/quests will the other two factions begin sending drones or troops against my base? I've never come across a drone other than Zirax. Playing SP, Survival mode on starter planet Trigya, if any of that matters.

That’s plants and animals - we need more.

We’ve a decent array of beneficial plants, but a lack of harmful or hazardous ones. I think the tech tree have now is annoying because it gives nothing to make a diversity between the player and make team work more important. You just kill animals and more animals until you reach level 25, just it.

Just posting this because I couldn't find it when I searched and needed to know because my CV wouldn't take off and rather than spam thrusters I needed a method.

If you need to calculate the downward thrust in Newtons that's required order to take off vertically (i.e. number and/or strength of thrusters) you use the following formula:

Planetary G * 9.81 * Ship weight in Kg.

E.g.
(1.03 G planet * 9.81) * 4.03kt => 10.1043 * 4,030,000 => 40.7MN Thrust required

I liked many of the "legacy" cockpits and liked the diversity. If the devs are going to destroy the diversity/creativity then it is a deal breaker for me and I will uninstall the game. it was fun in the brief time it lasted. Thanks and good bye.

Ya ever find yourself traveling along a Tube between CVs & find yourself scared that ya could end up dumped into Space if one of the Pilots of one of the CVs ever falls asleep behind the wheel & accidentally spins their CV around a bit breaking the Connection like a Toothpick?

Screw that! What if... in the 24th Century... CVs boarded each other with "Hardlight Tubes" instead! Hardlight is strong AND Flexible! If a CV accidentally twists a bit... whether through Pilot Error, sudden Ambush...

Two toned paint schemes: So I can paint the block one color and the emissive part another(would really really love this). Or paint glass windows one color and the frames another.

Gravity Generators: would be nice to have the radius of effect showing when you're placing them. Maybe a show gravity option in the debug menu? Alternatively, have gravity generators work like power generators and apply gravity to an entire structure.

Are there enemy CVs in space?

Been playing for some time now and I've noticed that space just feels entirely way too safe and empty. I actually have never seen a single enemy vessel in space, I've found a few POIs that were quite easy but never an enemy CV. Due to this, I don't know the combat strengths and weaknesses of my own CV builds, since they never actually see combat. Do they even exist? I'd love to run into a Zirax flagship or something.
