Ability to control Groups

i would like to see the ability to control groups for ships and buildings so you can shutdown just thrusters with the press of a key and sections of lights what ever someone groups together and assigns it to a button maybe link the numpad buttons with control groups eg. control group 1 = numpad 1 the in game you can assign this function to a group.
