Any way of regenerating alien bases/drones/enemies?

I was wondering if it is possible to edit the game files in order to automatically and randomly create new alien threat around the galaxy. We have been playing on our dedicated server for a couple of weeks now, and I think all alien bases have been destroyed. Thus, there are not longer any attacks on bases, and very few (if any) drones left.

Anyone got any tips for editing the server files? Even if it has to be done manually, suggestions would be helpful.
