Dear Eleon,
The Alpha 4.0 update brought a lot of great changes. You've added a lot of great features and updates since then. But the changes you made to the block textures (the ones for metal anyway) are awful.
I'm sorry - there's no kind way to say it, those metal textures are one giant leap backwards from previous versions. But I think I understand what went wrong, and why.

Hello everyone,

I suggest to devide the techtree to some levels.

Basic level:
Would be in player's PDA, as we have now. There would be basic survival devices craftable at Survival and Large Constructors. Do not need anything except Unlock Points and player level for unlocking.

Advanced level:
This researches would be able in new device Tech Station (Power supply needed. Placeable at BA/CV). Here we would unlock a rare ores refining, Advanced...

Ok, this might get shot down, but I was reading a random post about something unrelated and thought about how one day EGS is going to expand into a multi-solar system galaxy type of setting. This made me think of how annoying it is that I can have a base on two planets on opposite side of the solar system, but the only way to travel between the 2 is via CV.

Basically, water behaves VERY oddly in Empyrion. When I drill a mine at the water's edge below the water level, the water just stays as a wall towering over my mine like I was bloody Moses at the Red Sea or something.

By rights, any drilling that allows water to flow in SHOULD flood stuff.

That leads to some ideas:

1) Underwater mining (either through adapted vehicles, which would also be very handy on temperate seeds with immense seas, or just in person through your own facemask/oxygen,...

Hi all.

I'm doing some calculations to see how long it will take me to build the CV I want and just interested to know whether or not my mining technique sucks.

Currently with T2 drill and a whole charge, it takes

3:40 to completely use the charge and

240 Iron ore.


At this rate, it would take approximately 7.63 hours to mine the Iron I will need.
That means that to acquire all of the ores I need, it may take 18 hours of drilling-only.

If possible maybe some options in the right-click menu to do radius painting, like 3, 5, etc surrounding blocks, would make painting a large ship much easier.

The planet itself tends to be pretty spooky. I like the feel of it. My problems with the planet are that it is so hard to see the textures. Things are really pale and dark. The glowing plants are so cool. I would like to see more types of glowing plants and water plants as well. In general it just feels hard to see there. Too much fog makes it so that you cant look at any textures really. I would suggest taking a better look at this world and adjusting some values and giving it a little...

I dont like the asteroid mining. The CV drill is not faster than the T2 drill and i dont see a reason to use it. The devs should either increase the range of the drill or make it MUCH stronger.
What disappoints me the most is, that they slowed down the mining of asteroids. We could mine the satium asteroids a lot faster than on planet ore deposites. I hoped, that mining them would still be faster than on planets.

CUSTOM WORLD - No ore, POI, or even animals
So i am looking at adding a planet to the starter system on my server.

copied alien2 folder and renamed to alienstart
edit sector to give it a location

start new game and see - yes it is there and can visit it. color changes also took effect that i cahanged.

HOWEVER, no POI, no ore, not even alien/animals spawned.

Only resource that spawned if the blue crystals.

what did i do wrong?

I tried a second moon and the same happened...no ore, no...

I play this game since v1.6.4 and now after update to 5.0.0780 I suggest some things:

1) The possibility to change the color of my AMD and/or change the color of that "crystal" on the top of AMD!

2) The color of beam alternate into different colors when I place it up on a different Ores! (For Exemple, if I put it up a Promephium Ore, the beam color is changed...

I'm trying the experimental tree and my Steam workshop blueprints have disappeared. I just wanted to see if I could locate them. Do you know where they are stored?
I know that experimental might not support those blueprints. It does support my saved ones.

First this is intended for servers, public or private.
These files are all in the dedicated server folder.

I havent been able to get this running in single player as some of the files are slightly different so its just for servers sorry.


Alot of people have asked me on steam for an easy way to make planets, the simple fact is for people that are not Empyrion game file savvy it is pretty difficult, especially so for beginners.

Deconstructor, melting furnace

Hi guys,

how about a 'deconstructor', that get's you back ingots from already produced parts like steel plates, metal component, electronics and so on.

This could be some kind of melting furnace, that recreates the originally used ingots to build thos items.
Maybe with some minor loss of resource, so you can't get all of the original amount of resources back, but say about 80-90% or so.
