What's the point of cargo extensions?

Coming back from a 6 month break so I've missed a lot of notes on updates.

While I like the new weights and volume update I do have some questions:
1) What's the point of the cargo extensions if they don't add any more slots? I can put the container controller down then max out storage with extensions only to have the controller fill up as fast as a much smaller set up in the same base. So why bother?

2) Speaking of controllers, why bother having different types if I can put whatever I...

This is for a HV I'm creating.

Turning on center of mass and hopping in and out of the cockpit to get center of mass to update I see two indicators, one blue ball and one yellow one. I'm pretty sure one is the geometric center and the other is the center of mass. A lot of the info I've found seems to contradict each other and some info is a few years old.

Normally I'd just throw on some hover engines in what looked like the right area and call it a day. I'd just readjust them in game if...

General:
Empyrion does not support SLI yet, but you can improve performance by forcing SLI. I just increased my FPS by a factor of two, which is the best you can get with SLI. So for those of you having SLI, you can follow this official Guide from NVidia.

(Note: This is a feedback thread about the BlockShapes Menu, but you can also add in your feedback about available blockshapes of course!)

FEATURE OVERVIEW
We have now a repository of about 200 blockshapes for all BA and CV material blocks (and ~10 less for the small grid SV and HV as they do not share the "corridor" blockshapes)

To achieve the addition of about 150 new shapes, we had to entirely redo the blockshape (RMB) menu....

We have made quite a few changes in terms of drilling and mining. First an foremost all the handheld mining tools should now be significantly FASTER than before, but also the vessel-based tools should handle much better now.

  • Removes terrain as a whole semi-sphere instead of small voxels (= significantly fewer terrain-updates per m³ changed = CPU saving and network traffic)

OVERVIEW
Previously, only Drones would attack your base, given some arbitrary rules, like activating the first generator or placing a turret. Starting with Alpha 10, the rules that lead up to a base attack, are much more granular and fully tied to the NPC Faction system. Long story short: For Alpha 10, the Zirax will attack you with drones AND ground troops, if you manage to pi** them off too much.

Because they haven't bug template for Solar System Generator (SSG tool) and not found the thread where to post, I post here with my method.

Thought I'd make a thread for folks to post their daily happenings. If mods would rather not have this thread, feel free to delete it/whatever :)



Today (or last night rather) I finally ventured beyond Akua's atmosphere and decided to check out a nearby planet, which turned out to be the Omicron Moon.

First off I'm going to start with the positives and say I truly believe the game gets better from one update to the next. Alpha 8 was a great progression with getting rid of the green walls on planets. Alpha 9 has some massive art improvements and I think with some trial and error I think the logistics sytem will be great for gameplay. BUT the range of weapons in this game is pathetic. I know this isn't a simulator but the range of weapons in this game makes WW1 rifles look high tech....

may need to disable camera scaling? there are too many exploits because of this ... and the ships are flying like cubes, since everyone is trying to put the cockpit away ... is it possible to try to ask for some configuration on the server, and it is better in selected areas that prohibits third-person views?

Or ... as soon as the camera gets into the texture, immediately cancel the third-person view!

1.When selling items from Traders for cash using a connector - not 50,000 money cards fall into the container, but only 36,600. Because of this, having sold goods for 400,000 credits, I received 300,000.
2. When installing, the number of items 100000+ in TadesNPCConfig. Traders only display 6800, 34400, 64400.
3. Changing the size of the money card stacks from the default 50,000 to 100,000, when reconnecting to the server, the stack of 100,000 money card turns into 34,400.

Project Eden is currently under development and will be a large, randomized PvE scenario focused on open ended exploration and intended for single player, coop, or private dedicated servers. It will be compatible for public multiplayer but some POIs can't be set to regenerate.
